Premise
For some of you, it’s been years. For others, it’s been no time at all. For a lot of you, this is completely new.
For the American CIA, especially the former members of the long-disbanded CFP-TCI taskforce, it’s been ten long years since the Tagruato Corporation has been completely dismantled, its attempts to create giant mutated monsters from innocent humans for the purposes of multidimensional conquest exposed and thwarted, and the dimensional refugees it had kidnapped to be monster fodder sent home. Unfortunately, that progress and that success means nothing when, a few dimensions over, the team of the Cloverfield space station fires their onboard Shepard particle accelerator. The Shepard malfunctions, wrecking the paper thin walls between worlds and shattering dimensional integrity. Firing the Shepard again gets the crew of the Cloverfield space station home, but it does nothing to fix the domino effect of dimensions crashing into one another. Some escape relatively unscathed, with time mildly jogged or only odd things out of place; others are far more devastated. Some are even unfortunate enough to get giant monsters.
It’s always Cloverfield, the CIA realizes, and it’s always monsters. Of course it is.
In very short order, the CFP-TCI taskforce is reformed, this time under a slightly different name: CFP-DNR, or Cloverfield Project - Dimensional Nexus Recovery. They revive the much-improved but long-shut-down Dimensional Relocation Terminal and begin the process of recruitment.
That’s where you come in. CFP-DNR has come to you to recruit you to their cause: to repair the damage caused by the Shepard particle accelerator across dimensions. Maybe it’s your intelligence, or your leadership, or your powers, or any one of a number of skills you possess that they need. Maybe something has gone wrong in your dimension, and they’ve promised their help if you provide yours. Either way, at some point, you’ve agreed to help.
